A perfect sign

If I was to be honest I would have to say that they last 8 weeks have been tough.

Moving from a beautiful country where we were very comfortable at short notice, dealing with Bangkok for a week before settling into one of the most isolated parts of Thailand during its hottest and wettest period. Our new house had (has) no furniture (I mean nothing, just empty rooms.) Leaving my family for two weeks to work in Laos which during that time both kids got very sick before arriving home and falling ill myself and being totally useless for over a week. All of this along with stuff not really worth mentioning and you can see that life has been a bit rough.

Last night my sister in law told me to go and look at the moon. I limped outside and was greeted with the wonderful sight of the heavens smiling down on me. I called Seerung out and we managed a few seconds together (in each others arms) admiring the wonderful view and deciding that it was a beautiful sign that things are going to get better, much better.

Later on I got my camera and balanced it on a towel which was on a pillow which was on a chair and tried to take some snaps. As I was having to press the shutter button manually I was never going to get a perfect shot but this one was the best of the lot.

moon-good

However for some reason I like this one better!

moon-crazy

Someone I know who lives in Bangkok took this amazing shot. It is enough to make me want to go and buy a tripod and dust of my users manual! Thanks Bobcock for letting me use your photo.

Venus and Jupiter will stare down from the western sky like two brilliant eyes. Directly below, the crescent moon will form a happy mouth.

For the astronomers reading, apparently it is Jupiter and Venus.,Did everyone else get to see it?
