Tiles are finished

The kitchen tiles are done, finally something we can cross off the list because we haven’t been doing much crossing off since we arrived 3 months ago.

Total cost of tiles was 400 baht ($16 AUS) and 2 full days from the tiler was 500 baht ($20) although we tipped him a little extra as he did a good job. Total cost $36, back home that would get me a tiler for 1/2 an hour!

Just a shame that Seerung and I had never dealt with tiles before because if we had we would have had the half tile at the bottom. Oh well, you live and learn and even after just one day we have become used to it so no big deal.

  1. I think it looks great! Don’t worry too much about the half tile at the top, it really doesn’t matter in the end =)

  2. It seems as though you live in an up side down world anyway so it will seem natural.

MeMock replied “I hadn’t thought of it that way. Thailand can certainly seem a little different that’s for sure.”

  3. Very smart. Can Seerung use the kitchen yest, or is there more things to do?

MeMock replied “we have finally found someone who is going to finish the cupboards and instal the gas for us but he can’t start until he finishes another job which wont be until the end of the month, but after that hopefully we will be cooking with gas!”

  4. Andrew at that price you get what you pay for.
On the other hand at that price you could get him to come back and do it all over again.
It costs more than that to drive to Wyndaham and back!
