Holiday at the beach

Yesterday we arrived back at my parents place after spending 4 days and 3 nights at a place called Ohope which is a 1.5 hour drive away. We had rented two houses next door to each other right on the beach.

My brother and his family with us in one house and my sister, her family and my parents in the other. Swimming at the beach, building sand castles, long walks for ice cream, playing in the park, cricket and frisbee on the lawn – what an amazing time. All the cousins got along brilliantly and seeing the change in my eldest Ariya was heart warming. She came out of her shell and was always wanted to know what we were going to do next and where all of her friends were as soon as she woke up.

We also had my Auntie Jenny and Uncle David come down and stay at a hotel close by for two nights with good family friends Brian and Elaine and then on the Friday night another group of people came down for dinner and to celebrate my Mums 60th birthday.

My sister and her brood leave shortly for Auckland and then Australia but my brother and his mob are here until Sunday.
