February 2013

I can’t believe that I got so far behind with my blog! My last entry was about our return to Australia but that actually happened eight months ago in February!

In less then five weeks we are hitting the road again. This time taking in six different states of Australia as well as New Zealand and Thailand. I want to somehow bring the blog up to speed before we leave so that I am blogging in real time during our three months away.

After downloading photos I tend to group them into the different months they were taken. I figured this would be a good way to achieve my catch up goal – a blog entry for each month showing a selection of photos that best sum up what had been happening in our lives. I will also do a couple of extra blogs about a few trips/events that deserve more then just a photo or two.

So having said all that, I now present to you the month of February!

With the awful sticky conditions outside card games inside became popular. Even with Jacob!

One of my New Year resolutions was to teach my girls the game of chess. They took to it immediately and since then they have come awfully close to beating me.

Although it was very hot we ventured out late in the day for walks up to the shed to play on the farm machinery or just as far as the bridge to throw rocks in the lake.

The girls received a wonderful parcel from their Auntie Dee in America. It was full of beautiful clothes which they had a lot of fun posing in for the thank you photos.

Jacob of course had to get in on the act. This unfortunately started a bit of a fetish for high heels and dresses! Thank fully it was short lived.

As I planned more flying with the kids in 2013 I took Jacob up for a quick joy flight in the chopper just to test him out. He passed with flying colours and if fact almost seemed bored by the end of it!

A highlight for Ariya was two visits from the tooth fairy!

  3. Busy growing up

  4. After looking at the photos of your kids, I think I may have seen you and family when I was in kununarra just before the local show. I saw a western guy with a couple of “asian’ kids and wondered “is that memock?” guess I should have asked at the time !
Anyhow, have a great time on your big trip. Mine has finished now, and I’m off to BKK tomorrow.

    • Oh mate – are you serious!!! I so wish you did – that would have blown me away! We were here for the ag show so it more then likely was us as although there are quite a few asian people around, very few of them have any mixed raced children.

  5. Does Jacob take after you ? because that shot of him in the chopper looks so much like the father that I saw. It was in the car park near the supermarket, and the guy (who ever he was) was just getting the kids out of the vehicle (a 4WD?), he seemed to recognise the Thai “Dead Bull” t-shirt I was wearing.
If it was you it shows it’s a really small world !!

    • I don’t really see the similarity but a lot of people swear they do! If lightning ever does strike twice and you find yourself in the same situation please do yell out “Hey MeMock, is that you!”
