During June it was my little mans 2nd birthday.
Seeing as he didn’t care one way or the other we decided to celebrate it anyway by eating ourselves silly!
Here is a link to when I announced the birth on this blog and here is the link to his first birthday blog.
Jacob less then one hour old.
Jacob on his first birthday
Jacob is turning into quite an interesting character. His sense of humour is well rounded already and his ability to make you laugh even on the worst days is always welcomed. He has a very soft side with plenty of hugs and concern for his sisters yet almost at the same time he just wants to crash toy planes and cars together and run around the house like a mad man. He has an hilarious aversion to any type of dirt on his feet and his appetite is enormous! He still sleeps 12 hours a night but is like the energiser bunny during the day. He is interested in anything that is remotely different and I am really looking forward to our up coming three month holiday where he is going to see something different every single day. Happy birthday Jacob, you complete our family and I can’t wait for the next 12 months.
Here are a few photos showing how we celebrated the day.
Jacob is a food machine and within minutes of waking needs to be in his high chair devouring his breakfast. Sometimes it is rice, eggs and bacon but most morning he consumes two weet-bix, a little muesli and half a banana. Here he is having his first meal as a two year old.
Peppa Pig is a favourite. Okay – if I was to be honest he is besotted with the grunty little animal! Seerung decided to make him a special Peppa Pig birthday cake to celebrate.
After breakfast was over it was time to get ready to head to town for lunch. We decided to eat at ‘The Tav’ (otherwise known as Gullivers Tavern) While the rest of the family fluffed around Jacob and I went outside and played on the Kubota.
It was Noot and Bows first meal in a restaurant on a foreign soil. They had no idea what to order so we ordered for them.
Soon the food arrived. Steaks, Chicken in Pyjamas, Salt and Pepper Squid, Hamburgers and chips!
Peppa Pig waiting patiently to be consumed, but by the end of our pub grub meal every single one of us would have thrown up if we took even a single bite of cake! We were so full! So Peppa Pig was returned to the car and driven home to be eaten at dinner time. Lucky it was June as if we tried that later in the year the cake would have melted before the food had arrived!
Even though we had over eaten so much at lunch we still managed to spend the afternoon outside eating afternoon tea while the kids played. (By that stage I could hardly move!) That night we finally got around to the birthday cake!
My very happy two year old at the end of a lovely day.
